SWIMMING CLUB

The GDSC Swimming Club was formed in the summer of 1972 and has operated since that time.

Our focus is on fun, friendly competition, and great conversation—all while getting some exercise.

The club swims each Tuesday at the Grafton Aquatic Centre. Nominations for swimming are taken from 5:45 PM, with the first dive in at 6:00 PM

All swims are run on a handicap system to ensure fair and competitive racing.

The program consists of heats of a 50-metre freestyle, 30-metre freestyle and a 30-metre BBB (backstroke, breaststroke or butterfly), with finals for the 3 events following. During the Winter season the program incorporates a variety of fun events to keep things exciting during the cooler months.

The program generally takes no more than an hour, so we're finished by 7pm.

Beyond swimming, our club hosts a monthly pizza night at the GDSC on the first Tuesday of each month, providing a great chance to relax and connect with fellow swimmers. Club members also have the opportunity to travel to various swim carnivals 3-4 times a year.

Annual membership is $15.00 (First swim is free!)

Swimming membership is open to all members of the GDSC 18 years and over.

Children under 18 are welcome to participate.

Come along, have some fun, and enjoy the benefits of swimming with a great group of people!
