HELPING HANDS TRIVIA NIGHT - TILLY WALSH

SATURDAY 24TH MAY | DOORS OPEN 6:30PM | START 7:00PM | $150 TEAM OF 6 ($25PP)

Tilly is a spirited 6-year-old who loves unicorns, Taylor Swift, playing with her friends, going to school, and doing arts and crafts. A friendly social butterfly, she dreams of becoming a singer when she grows up.

On January 29th, Tilly visited the doctor for tonsillitis, and her parents requested a blood test, sensing that something wasn’t right. Normally full of energy, Tilly had been feeling constantly tired. Hours later, the doctor called with devastating news: the blood test indicated leukaemia.

Tilly and her mum were flown to Brisbane to meet with oncologists at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where they confirmed a diagnosis of MPAL (mixed phenotype acute leukaemia), a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia that exhibits characteristics of both acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Instead of beginning the new school year, Tilly’s mum, dad, older brother Harry, and younger sister Remi packed up and relocated to Brisbane for six weeks so Tilly could start her first round of intensive chemotherapy. She has been incredibly brave in the face of such a difficult challenge. By the end of this round, the tests were promising, showing that the chemo is working, but Tilly still faces two more years of treatment.

Join us on the 24th of May to raise money for brave and beautiful Tilly at the GDSC for a Helping Hands Trivia Night. Let's do what Grafton does best and help our community in need.
